"Erasing the wrong patterns"----"In to thousand branches"-3.

Note: Read the following with "May I become superior among the rich"and "Every saint has a past; every sinner a future."

1. The moment we correct our thinking and redress the mistake in the evaluations of things in the world, we know how to redeem ourselves from the sins and walk the path of virtue.

2. But, the difficulty felt by the practitioners is that  they are not completely independent of the reactions of their past mistakes.

3. Every action and every thought leaves the impression upon the mental world, and every following thought and action has a tendency to repeat itself.

4. Thus, having made one mis-judgement, the flow of thoughts thereafter has an irresistible tendency and irrepressible urge to flow in the same direction, pushing the injustice more and more into positive criminalities and low animalism.

5. The only way we can redeem ourselves from our mistakes is to correct our way of thinking and rewrite the entire pattern of thoughts in ourselves.

6. This erasing of the wrong patters and rewriting the unhealthy lines of thinking are both accomplished by the same Divine Process, which is prescribed in the sacred text-books.

7. The method advised is the constant and repeated chanting and japa of the sacred mantras of Pranavam, known as 'Omkara.'

8. We have already seen how 'Om' is the most excellent essence in all the Vedas and since it represents the Supreme Consciousness, it manifests itself into its manifold forms.

9. This is indicated here in the term "Mayst  thou  enter me.  In that Self of thine with a thousand branches, O Lord, may I purify myself from all my sins."
